The service offers impartial advice about matters relating to SEND, including issues relating to health and social care
We provide information and advice about: • the law on special educational needs and disability • education, health and care plans and procedures • SEND support in early years provision, mainstream schools and post-16 institutions • rights and entitlements of children and young people • personalisation and personal budgets • managing disagreements and support to resolve issues • managing mediation, appeals to the first-tier tribunal (SEN and disability), exclusions and complaints • local provision in mainstream, resourced mainstream and special schools • SEND transport applications and appeals • where to go for additional support locally or nationally, including voluntary services • what to do when things go wrong • support applying for DLA, PIP and with complex social care matters • Weekly advice surgeries for young people and sessions, and workshops for parents/carers and young people
