The Virtual School supports the educational progress of all children looked after and previously children looked after, to ensure that their educational success is a top priority in care.
We have a statutory offer of training for designated teachers in schools, focusing on ensuring that all children looked after between the ages 3 – 18 have a high quality Personal Education Plan (PEP) that secures the right support to drive their progress in learning, and that schools are making effective use of the Pupil Premium Plus to meet the needs of looked after learners.
We deliver a wide range of training across all corporate parenting roles including schools, governors, children’s social work services, carers and elected members to ensure that we fulfil our statutory duties to promote and support the education of children looked after and previously children looked after.
